Avid introduce Pro Tools 2026.4

New music & post-production features added

Avid Pro Tools 2026.4 DAW update Dolby Headphone Personalization Track Pin

Avid’s latest DAW update delivers an array of helpful features aimed at both music and post-production users, including a powerful new Track Pin function, support for the MPEG‑H immersive broadcast standard, built-in Dolby Headphone Personalization and more.

Track Pin & Immersive Upgrades

The new Track Pin function introduced in Pro Tools 2026.4 aims to offer a simple but effective way for users to stay focused when working on large, complex projects. Important tracks can now be locked into place in the Edit window, allowing them to remain in view while scrolling through the session.

Immersive audio capabilities have been extended, too, with Pro Tools now offering built-in support for MPEG-H, a broadcast standard that’s being adopted across regions such as South America and Asia. It’s now possible to create object-based audio for the standard directly in the DAW, with an MPEG-H Renderer plug-in developed by Fraunhofer IIS included at no extra cost to Pro Tools Studio and Ultimate customers.

The latest immersive enhancements also enable creators to work across multiple formats within a single session,, eliminating the need to manage separate projects. To support accurate monitoring of immersive mixes, Pro Tools 2026.4 also introduces Dolby Headphone Personalization. Using a custom-measured Head Related Transfer Function, creators can generate a tailored listening profile that improves spatial accuracy and ensures better translation between headphone and speaker-based immersive systems. Users capture their ear and head shape using their smartphone cameras and the free SoundID Tools mobile app by Sonarworks, and then load the resulting profile directly into Pro Tools.

Massive X Player & More

Those using Pro Tools for music production haven’t been left out, with the latest update containing some new instruments and sound content, including:

  • Massive X Player from Native Instruments, delivering the powerful and iconic synth engine directly within Pro Tools.
  • Exclusive Pro Tools Massive X Essentials expansion pack for all users.
  • Lo-fi & Chill Plucks and Haze expansion packs from Native Instruments for active subscribers and perpetual license holders.

The following new Inner Circle rewards have been added, too:

  • Ampknob BDH III by Bogren Digital, offering high-gain guitar amplifier tones.
  • Bad Math by Cut Classic, a powerful multi-band distortion plug-in.

“This new version of Pro Tools is all about helping creators stay focused, work more efficiently and meet the demands of modern production. Whether they are mixing immersive audio, navigating complex sessions or exploring new sounds, Pro Tools 2026.4 delivers the tools creators need to stay in their creative flow and produce their best work.” - Chris Winsor, Director of Pro Tools Product Management, Avid
