Announced at NAMM 2026, Celemony’s Tonalic kits DAW users out with real performances by world-class studio musicians, all of which can be adapted to suit any session’s chords, tempo and groove. It launched with a healthy selection of virtual players, and the company stated that it would be expanded with new content at least once every three months. True to their word, Celemony have just launched the first library update, which introduces a range of new musical flavours courtesy of renowned session player Julian Coryell.
Julian, who is the son of jazz legend Larry Coryell and the youngest graduate of Berklee College, spent years on tour with artists such as Alanis Morissette, Jewel and Aimee Mann before becoming sought-after session musician. Celemony say that the new Tonalic patterns reflect the full breadth of his musical life: flamenco, gypsy, indie pop, Latin and jazz — styles with deep roots that have been nearly impossible to recreate convincingly in a DAW context.
Compatibility
Tonalic is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 12 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. ARA support is currently provided for PreSonus Studio One 7 and Fender Studio Pro 8, with other DAWs due to be added in future updates.
