The latest expansion of e-instruments’ free Fragments series introduces a packed-down version of the company’s popular guitar instrument, delivering “the warm, woody resonance and evocative low-end character of a vintage baritone guitar”.
Velvet Guitars Fragment is based on the Mellow Baritone preset found in the full version of Velvet Guitars. The extended scale length of the instrument means that low notes are clear and defined, while its semi-hollow body adds some depth and resonance. The result is a spacious and distinctive sound which e-instrument s say is especially well suited to mellow, cinematic and atmospheric music.
Sustain and mute articulations are joined by a dedicated legato mode, allowing users to create everything from sparse low lines and lush mid-range chords to expressive melodies, while dead-note samples add some rhythmic detail and realism. The instrument captures the sound of two vintage amplifiers, both of which have been recorded with and without a real spring reverb, and also features a 60s-style tremolo effect and a built-in reverb.
