Elektron’s latest launch offers a convenient way for users to integrate hardware instruments, effects and mixers in their DAW-based setup, providing eight outputs that can be configured to carry audio or CV signals via a USB-C connection.
The Outbox 8 equips connected devices with eight physical outputs that can be used to send audio and CV signals to mixers, instruments, effects and other devices. Each output can be configured individually, and when set to CV mode they’re capable of carrying pitch, gate, trig, linear value or clock signals. The unit will also function as a dedicated USB MIDI-to-CV converter, allowing users to take control of modular rigs and other CV-equipped gear from their DAW.
Many of Elektron’s own devices include built-in tools for setting up the Outbox 8, and for non-Elektron USB class-compliant devices, everything can be configured using the Outbox 8 Web App.
