Another of Eduardo Tarilonte’s popular sample libraries has just been moved over to Engine Audio’s Engine Player, combining its meticulously recorded vocal performances with the performance increase and operational improvements offered by the platform.
Available via Best Service, the new and improved ERA II Vocal Codex brings together four solo vocal instruments, each of which promises to deliver natural expression, a distinctive tone and an intuitive playing experience. The voices cover a wide musical range, catering to everything from “delicate, floating melodies and intimate storytelling” to “bold, dramatic passages”. All four will happily stand alone as solo instruments or lead parts in larger arrangements, or can be layered to create huge, atmospheric soundscapes.
Everything has been captured in painstaking detail, with multiple dynamic layers helping to produce natural-sounding performances. Each instrument includes five dedicated True Legato vowel sounds, while velocity-sensitive syllables help users to create lifelike, expressive phrases. Users are provided with control over word length and articulation speed, and can adjust vowel sounds to ensure they suit each musical phrase. The Mediecal Tenor instrument also boasts independent control over legato transition speed.
Four Instruments
Here’s a quick look at each of the four instruments that make up ERA II Vocal Codex:

- Heroica: Reveals the powerful, expressive side of her voice, bringing exceptional presence to soaring melodies, emotional climaxes and dramatic solo performances.
- Bard: Features the warm voice of Iván López. Its natural, storytelling quality blends effortlessly into organic, atmospheric and cinematic productions.
- Medieval Tenor: Brings the elegant, expressive voice of Víctor Sordo to your music. Its clear tenor is ideal for lyrical solo lines, layered vocal passages and memorable melodic phrases.
