Fryette launch the Valvulator Mini

Valve-based front end for digital & modelling rigs

Fryette Valvulator Mini valve tube guitar preamp DI buffer

The latest addition to Fryette’s product range delivers a packed-down, pedalboard-friendly version of their Valvulator 1 Vacuum Tube Buffer unit that’s said to be the ultimate companion for guitarists utilising digital amps, modellers and long pedal chains.

Designed to preserve and enhance a guitar’s tone by converting the signal from high to low impedance, the compact unit serves to eliminate the high-frequency roll-off and signal degradation caused by the likes of cable capacitance and impedance mismatches. The valve-based buffer also acts as a ‘tone sweetener’, enriching the incoming signal with the subtle harmonics, dynamics and touch sensitivity normally associated with plugging directly into an amp.

The Valvulator Mini comes housed in a compact steel enclosure that’s well suited to both stage and studio use, and provides users with an unbalanced low-impedance output, an unbalanced transformer-isolated output and a balanced XLR output.

“The Valvulator Mini is the long-awaited evolution of one of our most popular rig solutions, the Valvulator 1 Vacuum Tube Buffer. The Mini features increased headroom and dynamic range, together with significantly lower noise. As always, I wanted a solution for myself that I knew would be a welcome tool for players, especially those who really appreciate the tone and feel of plugging directly into an amp.” - Steve Fryette
