Along with some new additions to their Inherit modular preamp system, GC Audio’s announcements for NAMM 2026 included the first unit in a new Total Recall series. Designed for both studio and live duties, the Producer Channel pairs an all-analogue channel strip with digital control, and offers remote control and recall via a plug-in.
Sitting at the start of the Producer Channel’s signal path is a Class-A mic preamp that employs a Lundahl transformer. As well as accepting mic and line-level signals, it features a front-panel instrument input, and offers switchable phantom power, pad, high-pass filter (80Hz) and polarity inversion. Next up is a four-band EQ, which sits next to a VCA compressor that can be placed either pre- or post-EQ, and offers a dedicated de-essing mode. Finally, a valve-based Warmth control provides some variable analogue saturation.
While the unit’s signal path remains entirely analogue, control is taken care of digitally. All of the Producer Channel’s current parameters can be saved and recalled instantly, and thanks to the use of motorised pots and switches, there’s no need for users to manually adjust anything — all of the unit’s front-panel controls move neatly into place as settings are loaded. a companion plug-in connects to the Producer Channel via USB, allowing settings to be saved and recalled along with a DAW session, and there’s also the option of saving and loading directly on the hardware itself courtesy of a built-in display and menu system.
