HeadRush launch the FRFR Cab Series

Two new full-range, flat-response cabinets introduced

HeadRush FRFR Cab Series full range flat response guitar amp

HeadRush have recently introduced a pair of new full-range, flat-response cabinets designed for players whose rig is built around a modelling system. Available in two versions, the FRFR-8 Cab and the higher-output FRFR-12 Cab, the series promises to faithfully amplify users’ dialled-in tones while offering a playing experience that’s more comparable to a traditional amp setup.

Both cabinets The smaller of the two units, the FRFR-8 Cab, offers 480W peak / 240W RMS of power, while the larger FRFR-12 Cab delivers 750W peak / 325W RMS. Each employ a custom-designed low-frequency driver and a one-inch high-frequency compression driver housed in a 90-degree conical horn that’s been designed to offer clear, even coverage. There is some tone-shaping onboard, with both units featuring a three-band Baxandall-style EQ and variable low-pass filter makes it fast to tailor the cabinet’s sound for new spaces without needing to adjust the original tone.

As for connectivity, both cabinets are equipped with a combo XLR/TRS line-level input, offering compatibility with just about any modelling pedal, profiler or digital guitar processor. An XLR line output provides a clean signal that can be passed on to the PA system or additional cabinets — those who require a stereo rig can of course use a pair of FRFR Cabs. There’s also a built-in Bluetooth 5.3 connection that allows users to stream backing tracks, rehearse with band mixes and so on.

Key Features

  • Purpose-Built for Modelling Pedals: Full-range, flat-response amplification preserves modelled tones with accuracy, without the colouration of a traditional guitar amp.
  • Traditional Amp Aesthetics: Classic amp-style cabinet design delivers a familiar look and stage presence.
  • Two Configurations: Available in the compact FRFR-8 Cab and higher-output FRFR-12 Cab.
  • Custom Drivers: A custom-designed woofer and one-inch compression driver provide clear, balanced sound reproduction.
  • Wide Coverage: A 90-degree conical horn helps distribute sound evenly across the room.
  • Baxandall EQ: Three-band EQ and a variable low-pass filter adapts the cabinet to any room, stage or studio.
  • Flexible Connectivity: XLR/TRS combo input connects easily to modelling pedals and processors; XLR line output simplifies PA integration and cabinet linking.
  • Bluetooth Connectivity: Built-in Bluetooth 5.3 audio supports practise, rehearsal and playback.
  • Built-in Kickstand: Angles the cabinet for on-stage monitoring use.
  • Road-Ready Construction: Rugged, closed-back wooden cabinet built for regular transport and performance.

“Guitarists and bassists building their sound in a modelling pedal deserve a cabinet that gets out of the way and lets that tone come through, on stage, in the studio, wherever they play. The FRFR Cab Series pairs that accuracy with the feel of a real amp cabinet, so the rig sounds and feels like home no matter where you're plugging in.” — John Boudreau, Director of Product Development, HeadRush
