Heavyocity are well known for their hard-hitting cinematic instruments, and their latest release is no exception to the rule. Aptly named Oblivion Drums, the new arrival focuses squarely on aggressive drum and percussion sounds, and combines a generous collection of unapologetically processed samples with three powerful instrument modes.
Developed in collaboration with David Levy — an acclaimed composer known for his work on DOOM Eternal, gen:LOCK and Justice League — Oblivion Drums includes over 30,000 samples, 99 presets and 504 loops that span three distinct instruments: Kit Designer, Ensemble Designer and Loop Designer. All of the core samples were captured at Power Station Studios in South Florida, before being subjected to some heavy-handed processing using an array of analogue outboard gear.
The Kit Designer equips users with an assortment of individual hits and offers individual source controls for every voice, while the Ensemble Designer comprises 360 sources that can be used to create massive, layered drum hits. The Loop Designer then makes it possible to combine up to three independent loop layers, and provides 504 editable, tempo-synced patterns that can be combined to create custom hard-hitting grooves. Take a look at the video below to get an idea of what's on offer.
"With Oblivion Drums, we wanted to build something that hits with zero compromise — an instrument where every single voice carries real weight and attitude.” - Neil Goldberg, Co-Founder, Heavyocity
