MK2 & Bass system control app improved

HEDD Audio CTRL MK2 Bass monitor control calibration software

HEDD Audio have just launched a new and improved version of the control software that pairs with their MK2 and Bass monitoring systems. HEDD CTRL 2.0.1 introduces per-band bypass of the system’s parametric equaliser, smarter device sorting, enhanced speaker highlighting and updated immersive format labelling.

The software is equipped with a 12-band parametric equaliser that can be utilised for global, group-dependent or per-speaker customisation, and with the latest version installed, it’s now possible for users to individually bypass each band, making it quick and easy to carry out A/B comparisons. Version 2.0.1 also fixes equaliser input issues and a scaling bug that was reported by some users. Those with larger CTRL-based systems (the software supports up to 250 speakers) will also benefit from the update, with improved handling of IGMP snooping on network switches resulting in more reliable speaker connections.

Other improvements include a GUI tweak that visually highlights speakers whose rear-panel Lineariser switch is not set to the (*) position as required for CTRL operation. The new feature aims to help users identify misconfigurations quickly, and will be particularly useful to those running larger, more complex monitoring setups. HEDD Audio have also improved the immersive setup offered by HEDD CTRL by adding assignment labels and device-sorting options that match the relevant standards.

Version 2.0.1 of HEDD CTRL also includes a firmware update for the currently supported monitors: the Type 05 MK2, Type 07 MK2, Type 20 MK2, Type 30 MK2 and the Bass 08 / Bass 12 subwoofers. The speaker firmware update is required for the new CTRL features to work correctly.
