IK Multimedia have just launched a public beta of Tonex 2.0, a release which is said to represent the biggest evolution of their amp- and effects-modelling platform to date. Available now to all current users, the update introduces deeper ToneNET integration, an expanded library of up to 220 new Premium V2 Tone Models and a completely redesigned interface that makes it easier than ever to find, edit and organise sounds.
Tonex 2.0 Player introduces a completely redesigned Home page that brings the software’s gear, signal chain and library together into a single streamlined workspace. A new photorealistic gear experience makes interacting with amps and pedals feel more natural, while a flexible signal chain gives users the freedom to build and customise complete guitar and bass rigs. Tone Models, presets and collections can be found quickly using a Smart Search function, and dedicated, resizable browsers make it easier to explore and organise Tonex’s wide range of content. Other quality-of-life improvements include resizable floating windows, multi-monitor support and custom folders, along with Favorites and Recently Used tools.
The latest version of the software boasts tight integration with IK Multimedia’s ToneNET, making it quicker and easier than ever to audition, download and manage Tone Models, presets and collections. It also comes alongside the launch of 220 new Premium V2 Tone Models, expanding the Factory Library with a variety of sought-after vintage classics, boutique favourites, modern high-gain sounds and essential bass gear.

Compatibility
Tonex 2.0 Player is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 10.15 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Tonex 2.0 Player is now available to all existing Tonex users as a free optional Public Beta. Tonex SE and Tonex users can now upgrade to Tonex MAX for $€49.99 to unlock the complete collection of 220 new Premium V2 Tone Models, while existing Tonex MAX users receive the full library free of charge. For a limited time, new users can purchase Tonex MAX for $€99.99 (regularly $€299.99).
