Combines the Phat Drive with high-voltage valve circuit

The latest pedal from Keeley Electronics combines their popular Phat Mode drive pedal with an all-new high-voltage valve circuit.

Despite running from a standard 9V supply, the Tube Drive employs a 12AX7 valve running at 168V. Keeley say that the approach means the valve can to “do what it’s actually meant to do”, with the pedal offering all of the character and behaviours that are associated with classic valve-based gear. Rolling back the guitar volume results in a clear, musical tone that doesn’t ‘thin out’, while hitting the input harder delivers some compression and increased sustain.

Along with its Tube channel, the pedal also includes a Drive channel that’s based on Keeley’s Phat Mod circuitry. It offers a more aggressive sound, and although it’ll still produce some reserved tones with lower gain settings, it can be pushed into full-on stacked overdrive territory. In an effort to provide as much versatility as possible, the order of the Tube Drive’s channels can be reversed with a long press of the footswitch, allowing the Tube section to feed into the Drive section or vice versa.
