Iceland-based Love Synthesizers have announced that their highly anticipated synthesizer is now available for pre-order. The recipient of the Best Innovation Award at Superbooth 2024, the First Love combines a responsive touchscreen with tactile controls, and has been designed to make wave morphing and FM synthesis more intuitive without sacrificing depth.
The result of years of research, design and refinement, the First Love has been created with the aim of offering a fresh approach to sound design. It employs a mixture of wave shaping, morphing envelopes and FM synthesis, and features an intuitive interface that focuses on direct interaction rather than menu-diving. Its animated touchscreen is complemented by responsive physical controls, allowing musicians to maintain the tactile immediacy of hardware while benefitting from detailed visual feedback.
It’s a standalone instrument, and thanks to its compact size and the option of running on batteries, can be used just about anywhere. It’s equally at home in the studio, though, and offers MIDI, sync and USB connectivity along with four outputs that can be run as two stereo pairs or four mono channels.
