Native Instruments CEO Nick Williams has announced that a definitive agreement has been signed for the company to be acquired by inMusic.

In a statement shared with customers, partners and the wider music production community, Williams described the deal as a fresh start for Native Instruments following what he called one of the most challenging periods in the company’s history.

The acquisition brings together two major music technology groups, with inMusic's portfolio including brands such as Akai Professional, Moog Music, Denon DJ, Numark, Rane and M-Audio. Williams pointed to the recent NKS hardware and MPC Editions collaboration as an early sign of the partnership.

According to the statement, Native Instruments, iZotope, Plugin Alliance and Brainworx will all continue operating, with existing products, platforms and support remaining in place during the transition.

Jack O’Donnell, CEO of inMusic: Our commitment is simple: continued investment across all brands and product lines, and a long-term focus on innovation that serves creators at every level. The tools you rely on today will keep working, and the tools you will rely on tomorrow are actively being built.”

The transaction is expected to complete in the coming weeks, with further details to be shared at a later stage.
