Novation’s dedicated FL Studio controller family has just been upgraded, with four new models expanding on the capabilities of their predecessors and offering improved hardware alongside even tighter integration with Image-Line's hugely popular DAW software.
The FLKey 2 line-up boasts some significant upgrades, including new semi-weighted keybeds for the 49- and 61-note models, along with more responsive drum pads, endless encoders and a new OLED display that provides visual feedback on key software parameters. All models also benefit from Scale and Chord modes and a powerful built-in arpeggiator.
Thanks to enhanced DAW scripts, all models now provide even deeper integration between their hardware controls and FL Studio. Users gain tactile control over essential elements of the software including the Channel Rack and Mixer, as well as getting hands-on control of plug-in parameters and expanded sequencing capabilities via the RGB-backlit pads.
All of the new FLkey controllers come supplied with a new software collection that’s been designed to get users up and running as quickly as possible. Each unit is bundled with a six-month subscription to FL Studio Producer Edition; a range of premium instruments and effects from Native Instruments, GForce, Orchestral Tools and Klevgrand; bespoke finger-drumming and keyboard lessons from Melodics; and Novation Play — a virtual instrument that comes packed with presets and has been designed to work seamlessly with FLkey’s hardware controls.
“We’re proud to have worked so closely with Image-Line to deliver the only keyboard controller designed specifically for FL Studio. Through this collaboration, we’ve added even more direct hardware access to the features and workflows that are most important to FL Studio's core user base. We know the FLkey 2 will be a huge step forward for beatmakers and producers.” - Nicholas Howlett, Head of Marketing, Novation
