Versatile ribbon mic kit revealed
The latest arrival to the AEA line-up brings together three contrasting models from their Nuvo range, delivering a versatile miking kit aimed at both studio and live use.
Representing AEA’s modern approach to ribbon mic design, the Nuvo range combines the character of traditional ribbon mics with active electronics, a higher output level and a compact, durable construction. There are three models from the range included in the new Nuvo Flight kit, each of which feature phantom-powered electronics that help to ensure compatibility with a wide variety of preamps, as well as boasting high SPL handling.
What’s Included?
- N22 (Nearfield): Designed for close miking from 1 to 18 inches, with reduced proximity effect and extended top-end clarity. Well suited for vocals, guitar amps and percussion instruments where detail and control are needed up close.
- N13 (Mid-field): a newer addition to the Nuvo line, featuring a 1.2-micron ribbon for enhanced transient response. Optimised for sources at working distance such as drum overheads, acoustic instruments and strings.
- N8 (Far-field): Built for capturing the natural sound of a space, maintaining low-end and top-end detail from distances of 12 inches to over 20 feet. Commonly used for room miking, ensembles and orchestral applications.
The Nuvo Flight comes supplied in a rugged custom flight case.
