Ravine DSP have recently updated their innovative plug-in host, kitting it out with a new feature that brings yet more modulation and control possibilities.
If you’re not already familiar with Inter::State, it’s an VST3/AU plug-in that is capable of hosting other plug-ins, and offers an array of routing, automation and modulation tools. There are three Racks that can each host up to eight plug-ins, and a Main view that handles routing between the Racks. Users can build complex plug-in chains while taking advantage of series or parallel routing options and built-in multi-band and Mid-Side tools, while comprehensive macro controls and modulation options make it possible to create intricate evolving effects.
New to version 1.3 is Slot Scenes, a function that allows hosted plug-ins’ parameters and mixer settings to be saved in each of Inter::State’s effects slots. Up to eight sets of parameter states can be saved for each Scene, and as well as switching instantly, it’s possible to morph seamlessly between states either manually or with tempo-sync’ed transitions. Scenes can also be tied to the plug-in’s macro controls and modulation system, or triggered via MIDI or host DAW automation.
Compatibility
Inter::State is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 10.13 and above. VST3 and AU plug-in versions are available. AAX support is currently in the works.

Inter::State is available now, and is currently (13 August 2026) being offered at a reduced price of $69€60 (usually $99€85). Existing users can download the latest update for free.
