Following their recent public beta release, Reason Studios have announced the full release of Reason 14. With the launch of the latest version, the popular DAW has been treated to a visual design overhaul, gained some powerful new sequencing capabilities, kitted out with new built-in effects and more.
The headline feature of the new version is its new track-centric workflow, which offers control of any track’s signal chain, levels and sends directly from a new Track Panel in the sequencer, providing users with in-depth control over their session without needing to switch views. The sequencer itself has been upgraded, too, with Track Folders and a more intuitive piano roll helping to deliver both operational and organisational improvements. RV-9 Reverb Station then expands the onboard effects collection, while a whole host of new drum samples and instrument patches provide a wider range of built-in sounds.
Reason Rack
As with previous versions, the software is available in two forms: Reason and Reason Rack. The former is the full, standalone DAW, while the latter delivers a plug-in version that allows the software’s instruments and effects to be loaded into other DAWs as a VST3, AU or AAX plug-in.
Compatibility
Reason 14 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 11 and higher. Reason Rack is available as a VST3, AU and AAX plug-in.
