Reason Studios have revealed that the latest version of their DAW software will be launching in May 2026. Currently available as a public beta, Reason 14 introduces a new track-centric layout, an enhanced sequencer, a new effects module and more.
At the top of the list of new features is the Track Panel, a new section of the Reason GUI that allows users to take control of every element of a track without leaving the sequencer. Housed in a new sidebar, the feature makes it possible to adjust any track’s key mixer parameters, as well as seeing an overview of its signal path and make adjustments to any active devices. The sequencer itself has been treated to an upgrade, too, with a more intuitive piano roll promising to speed up programming and a new Track Folders function helping to keep sessions neat and tidy.
As for the rest of the GUI, Dark Mode is now the default across all of Reason 14’s views and windows, and new navigation buttons for the Track Panel, Edit Area, Groove Mixer and other elements of the DAW help users to move around their session more quickly. Other new additions include automatic tempo detection on import and a MIDI note chase function that ensures MIDI data is played back correctly regardless of playhead position.
RV-9 Reverb Station
Reason 14 also comes with an all-new effect: RV-9 Reverb Station. Described as the successor to RV7000, the new reverb comprises nine new algorithms that cover everything from realistic-sounding room emulations to infinite experimental effects. Last but not least, the update will include over 900 new drum samples, 50 new Europa patches and 20 new impulse responses for RV7000.
Availability
Reason 14 will be available in May 2026. From 1 March 2026, all purchases of (or upgrades to) Reason 13 or Reason Rack 13 will include a free upgrade to the next version. Reason+ and Reason Rack subscribers will automatically receive the update. Users can sign up to take part in the beta on the Reason Studios website.
