Said to represent the next evolution of RME’s all-in-one reference converter concept, the all-new ADI-2 Pro EX offers professional users the comprehensive functionality of the company’s previous reference-grade converter, but comes kitted out with a redesigned chassis, enhanced output performance and further comprehensive hardware protection.
Much like its predecessor, the ADI-2 Pro, the ADI-2 Pro EX combines several devices in one. It’s capable of acting as a high-end studio-quality A-D / D-A converter, and comes loaded with a dual headphone amplifier, multi-format digital conversion (AES, SPDIF, ADAT) built-in monitoring features, a DSD recording and playback converter and an A-D / D-A front end for audio measurements with support for sample rates of up to 768kHz.
The company say that the comprehensive set of features make the new arrival perfect for a wide range of applications, from studio users seeking reference-grade to hi-fi enthusiasts demanding a flexible yet high-end headphone amplifier — or even engineers looking for a portable device as front end for testing and measurement rigs.
