Sonora Cinematic have just released the third and final instalment in their series of acoustic guitar libraries for Audiomodern’s Soundbox platform. While Pure Nylon offered “warmth and intimacy” and Pure Steel String brought “vibrancy and definition”, Pure 12-String rounds off the collection with “an unmistakable shimmering, glassy sound”.
The new arrival focuses on playable, non-synced soundscapes which Sonora Cinematic refer to as ‘pluckscapes’. There are four main articulations: Pluckscapes (Plucked) and Pluckscapes (Picked), both in dense and sparse variations; Pluckscapes (5th & 8va), where a fifth and an octave are added at random intervals to each note for richer, more intricate textures; and a set of dramatic, shimmering Tremolo articulations. The instrument also includes a series of additional presets that respond expressively to the user’s playing, with layers of modulation and full MPE support helping users to create intricate evolving cinematic soundscapes.
Compatibility
Pure 12-String requires Audiomodern Soundbox v1.0.7 or later, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pure 12-String is available now, and is currently (27 July 2026) being offered at an introductory price of £12, reduced from its full cost of £18. All three Pure instruments can be purchased together as a bundle, which is currently priced at £30 as part of the company’s Summer Sale. Prices include VAT.
