Sonuscore launch Lux Orchestral Strings Elements

Free version of innovative string library arrives

Sonuscore Lux Elements orchestral string sample library free

Released in October 2025, Lux Orchestral Strings was said to be Sonuscore’s most ambitious library to date, boasting a Seamless Articulation Transitioning (SAT) technology that automatically switches articulations based on the user’s playing style. Now, the company are offering a free version that gives composers a chance to try the library out before purchasing, but comes kitted out with enough features to program a full string arrangement.

Recorded on a large concert stage with traditional symphonic seating, the original library captures a 70-piece string ensemble using 48 microphones, including 22 dedicated bleed microphones that deliver the natural spill between each instrument section. Engineering for the sessions was taken care of by Peter Fuchs, an award-winning score mixer with over 400 film and game credits including Iron Man 3, Harry Potter and Call Of Duty

LUX Orchestral Strings Elements provides users with access to all five of the library’s string sections, and includes four core articulations for each of them. It’s been built using the same recordings and cinematic mix that feature in the full library, allowing composers to write a complete string cue from the first idea to a deliverable draft without restriction.

Key Features

  • All five orchestral string sections: First Violins, Second Violins, Violas, Celli, Basses.
  • Four core articulations per section: Sustain, Spiccato, Tremolo, Sul Ponticello Tremolo.
  • The same recordings and cinematic mix as the full $499 library.
  • A one-octave legato demo for First Violins, demonstrating the quality of the legato transitions.
  • Covers melodic writing, rhythmic passages and tension textures.
  • Sufficient to write and deliver a complete string cue.

Compatibility

Lux Orchestral Strings Elements runs in Native Instruments’ free Kontakt Player version 7.10.9 or above, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 13 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.
