SoundBridge have recently put together a tutorial video that provides users with a step-by-step guide on how to set up their own private TURN server for hosting remote collaboration sessions in their DAW software.
The process isn’t a prerequisite for virtual collaboration in SoundBridge, as users already have the option of using the services provided by the company themselves. However, they say that there are two significant benefits that may be welcomed by some users. The first is that it allows those with a Lifetime License to ‘decouple’ from their community server subscription; the second, is that by running their own private infrastructure, users can guarantee that their intellectual property is only sent over servers that are under their full control.
