Following on from their partnership announcement at NAMM 2026, Spitfire Audio and Akai Pro have announced the release of two new sample libraries that can be run entirely on MPC hardware.
The latest arrivals deliver reworked versions of two of Spitfire’s most popular Originals libraries, Intimate Strings and Cinematic Pads. Both contain the same samples as their native counterparts — the two libraries were captured at the legendary AIR Studios — but have been carefully optimises for performance, immediacy and expressive control on the MPC range’s pads and controls.

Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition features 25 of London's finest players, capturing intimate, detailed performances with pristine close and Decca tree microphone signals. Expression and Dynamics sliders give players real-time expressive control, while some spatial control is provided by a high-quality built-in reverb. Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition then delivers 23 presets of evolving, atmospheric pads that blend orchestral sources, synth elements and processed textures, creating sounds that shift and develop over time. Parameters including Reverb, Attack, Release and Distort help users to shape the samples to taste, while Mellow, Bright and Cinematic signal options offer some overall tonal adjustment.
