UVI’s latest plug-in offers a fresh new take on their best-selling chorus effect, combining a pair of engines that are capable of delivering everything from “brilliant digital shimmer to grainy vintage movement”.
Thorus XT still comes equipped with the digital engine that UVI users know and love, covering an array of clean and precise effects as well as offering band-limiting and sample-rate reduction for those who prefer some lo-fi ‘crunch’. The new version, however, introduces a analogue-modelled engine that emulates the sort of circuitry found in classic hardware like Roland’s Dimension D and Juno-6.
In contrast to the digital engine, the new arrival recreates the natural imperfections present in vintage hardware designs: aliasing, resonance, pumping compression, hiss and per-voice variation. It also offers access to parameters that are usually locked away in the circuitry itself, including alias filtering, compander behaviour and clock rates.

Compatibility
Thorus XT is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. The plug-in is authorised using PACE’s iLok system, although a physical dongle is not required.
