Sonora Cinematic have recently released the third instalment in their Transfigured Orchestra series, delivering a versatile collection of brass sounds that range from “quiet, intimate tones to bold, majestic textures”.
Available for Audiomodern’s free MPE-capable sampler software, Transfigured Orchestra Vol 3: Cinema Brass has been designed to create music that feels tense, emotional and alive. A set of 25 presets feature the likes of flugelhorn, solo French horn, trumpets and trombones, spanning everything from traditional orchestral sounds to more abstact, ambient tones. In contrast to the long, swelling flugelhorn crescendos and decrescendos found in Vol 2, the latest arrival focuses on shorter, more playable sounds, and includes a set of flutter-tongue articulations that promise to bring life and movement to otherwise static arrangements.
Sonora Cinematic have also taken the opportunity to include a collection of vintage sampler patches. The patches were created by re-sampling the captured brass sounds through digital hardware that creates accurate models of vintage samplers and other effect processors, resulting in a series of presets with a gritty, lo-fi character. Lastly, a set of cinematic sound design patches offer an array of deep bass sounds.
Compatibility
Transfigured Orchestra Vol 3: Cinema Brass runs in Audiomodern’s Soundbox 1.2, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Transfigured Orchestra Vol 3: Cinema Brass is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of £18 until 5 June 2026, when it will increase to £22.80.
During the same period, all of the other volumes are also on sale, including the brand-new Transfigured Orchestra Bundle, which includes all three volumes for the special intro price of £54. Prices include VAT.
