In addition to their range of in-line preamps, Triton Audio recently managed to squeeze a compressor into an enclosure that’s only slightly larger than your average XLR connector. Now, they’ve introduced the Tilt EQ, which takes the same approach with a simple one-knob EQ circuit.
The new arrival occupies the same housing as the FetHead in-line booster and still delivers +22dB of additional gain. In addition to the gain boost, it comes equipped with a simple tilt EQ circuit that can be controlled from a single dial on the body of the enclosure. Turning the control clockwise will introduce a high-frequency boost and low-frequency cut, while turning anticlockwise delivers the opposite.
The Tilt EQ runs from standard 48V phantom power, but does not pass it on to the connected microphone, meaning that it’s still safe to use with older ribbon mics.
