The latest arrival to the Universal Audio range delivers a new native pitch-correction plug-in that’s capable of delivering everything from subtle correction to the hard-tuned effects that dominate modern pop, hip hop and R&B tracks.
Designed with modern vocal production in mind, UAD Topline Vocal Tune has been optimised for ease of use, and is said to be capable of correcting and reshaping vocals instantly. Although it’ll deliver natural-sounding correction — and includes a section designed to help preserve a vocal’s character — it will also happily take things much further, and can be pushed into creating the much more obvious effects sought by modern producers. Helpfully, the plug-in keeps latency low enough for use during tracking, meaning that it’s possible for singers to monitor their pitch-corrected vocals without any delays.
