VEMIA celebrates 15th anniversary

VEMIA, the Vintage Electronic Musical Instrument Auctions, will be holding their 30th sale later this month. Peter Forrest, author of The A-Z Of Analogue Synthesizers, has been running the auctions for 15 years now, and the latest one will be taking place between 24th April and 1st May. They’re also advertising a ‘second-chance Sunday’ on the 2nd May, where you’ll get the chance to snap up any items that didn’t sell in the main auction.

Already, there are some very interesting bits of second-hand gear confirmed for sale, including an Oberheim OB-8, a Yamaha CS50, a Korg Trident, a Minimoog and an early Moog Modular. The event is not just for synths, however: VEMIA say that they will also be selling amplifiers, speakers, samplers, effects, mixers, outboard gear, software, test equipment and “weird stuff”, so even if you’re not a synth nut it sounds like it will be well worth checking out.

VEMIA are pitching themselves as a cost-effective and safe alternative to eBay, with all auctions benefiting from Peter Forrest’s considerable expertise in the area of audio equipment, and all payments and deliveries being conducted in a mutually agreeable manner by the buyer and seller.
