Waves have recently released an update that extends their vocal-alignment plug-in’s capabilities to all DAWs — even those without ARA support. With the latest version installed, Sync Vx is now available in VST3, AU and AAX plug-in formats in addition to the existing ARA and AudioSuite offerings.
The update will no doubt be welcomed by users of FL Studio and Ableton Live, who until now had not been able to employ Sync Vx in their sessions. Its core functionality remains the same, allowing users to precisely align both the timing and pitch of multiple vocal tracks in a fraction of the time that manual editing requires. Users are able to assign multiple reference tracks and align up to 16 tracks at once, and the plug-in includes a selection of formant-shifting and transposition tools that can be used to apply creative effects as well as natural-sounding correction. Aside from its use to those working in music, it also has plenty to offer for post-production users, offering a fast and simple solution for ADR and dialogue alignment.
Compatibility
Sync Vx is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 13 or higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
Pricing & Availability
Sync Vx is available now, and perpetual licenses are currently (19 April 2026) reduced from $199 to $49. It’s also included in the Waves Ultimate subscription and Mercury bundle. Current Sync Vx (V16) users can upgrade to the latest version at no additional cost.
