Mackie Thump Go & ThumpSub Go

With the launch of their new ThumpSub Go, Mackie’s off‑grid PA goes full‑range!

Today we have a huge choice of ‘box’ or column‑style compact PA systems, but when it comes to battery operation, the choice is rather more limited — and all the more so if you also need a decent amount of power. The Mackie Thump Go and its companion subwoofer, the ThumpSub Go, form a robust but portable PA system for small to medium‑sized venues such as pubs, bars and smaller outdoor events. Both units can run on mains power or removable lithium batteries and, when paired with the also battery‑powerable Mackie ProFX 10 Go mixer, form a complete PA setup that’s just as usable off‑grid as it is indoors.

We reviewed the ProFX 10 Go separately in June 2025, so please refer to that for more detail on the mixer side. In addition to the speakers and mixer, Mackie offer their SPM400 speaker poles for mounting the tops above the subs, plus rechargeable batteries for each speaker (these are an optional extra when buying the speakers individually). Additional spare batteries and custom cases are also available. The system is suitable for mobile DJs, live events, corporate presentations, outdoor ceremonies and garden parties — with or without mains power.
