Grampian Spring Reverb IR's and History

Postby DanDan » Wed May 01, 2013 10:00 pm

I have a Grampian Ambiophonic Type 666 Spring Reverb unit.
I also have a self built stereo version which I used for years in live sound mixing.
I am about to extract Impulse Responses which I will gladly post here if there is interest.
I will post them on the Altiverb site also.
I am also considering writing a feature on this historic device.
It contains the Hammond spring, as does the Fender Twin Reverb.
Pete Townsend, Joe Meek, Nicky Ryan (Enya, Clannad) used Grampians.
I believe it was a BBC design.
I do hope some of you out there have some knowledge of this little legend.

I would love to see the impulses responses. I used to have one of these about 10 years ago. Wish I hadn't gotten rid of it.
