Martin has some damn good 'generation' plugins that he has pointed me towards in the past. I quite like the old Chameleon 5000 bitmap morphing function but there are so many plugins now that can generate morphed or shared tones from basic sources that we are spoilt....

Hi Skerrick!

Sorry - only just noticed this thread :headbang:

I discussed Otomata in a fairly recent PC Notes column here: ... 0912.htm#2

As Eddie has mentioned, it's also a personal interest of mine, so here are a few more links to on-line music generators that have also intrigued me:

As for recording the output of Otomata, I can provide a far more versatile alternative courtesy of Bill Davies (aka ToneCarver), who has created a PC-only VST 2.4 plug-in inspired by Otomata that he’s named Nova3 ( ... uencer-vst), which simply outputs sequences of MIDI notes. It’s available as a free download in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, and you just insert it into your favourite sequencer, ahead of your chosen synth, to produce a stream of intriguingly-changing audio:

Hope this helps!
