Roland 'VS STREAMING' driver

Postby Madman_Greg » Mon Jan 21, 2013 8:36 pm

Was looking at the new Roland 'VS STREAMING' driver on a product video.

Marketing blurb seems to suggesting the driver offers improved timing (rock solid are the words used). Which to me says it might be as consistent as firewire.

Anyone got any comments.

I'll be honest and say that all it seemed to do (in my use anyway) was increase the latency, had better performance results with it switched off.
Yes, through doing that it probably is a hell of a lot less susseptable to pops and clicks when recording or for playback though.
I guess its some kind of buffer with an internal clock source.

Probably a great idea to turn it on for recording (if you dont need to monitor through the sequencer) and for broadcast / live shows, if the slightly increased latency isn't an issue.
