School recording PC

Postby Noelwooddrums » Wed May 01, 2013 8:13 pm

Hello this is my first time here,

I have been charged with getting our school music dept. up to the modern day.
Currently the set up is;
Old Carillion PC (not working)
Soundcraft Spirit 12 channel desk
Focusrite 24 pro AD/DA
Beringer Truth monitors
AKAI S2000 sampler
Other odds and sods.

I need to make it good enough so that we can hire it out to musicians for evening and weekend recording.

I have an iMac running Protools at home but the school don't want to pay Apple prices.
Any help on what I can get (PC spec wise) would be gratefully received.
Also I think they need more AD/DA channels so a USB interface or just an AD/DA converter and use the desks mic pres.

Thank you in advance

That's good to know. I was thinking about suggesting contacting you to see if that was possible.

Noel... I imagine you are still finding your way around the forums here. When you have a PM (private message) for you to read you will see a flashing symbol appear on the blue menu bar towards the top of the screen. It doesn't appear on the SOS home page, but once you enter any of the forum pages (Forum Index, any of the Forums, and any post in any forum) you will see it there. Just click on it and you will be taken to the PM section of your My HOME pages.
