The latest addition to the SSL Complete line-up has arrived, combining a selection of classic effects processes with the power and versatility of a modern plug-in environment. Module8 offers a set of six LFO-driven modulation effects alongside two parallel processors and some additional stereo width tools.
The plug-in houses six independent processing modules: Phaser, Flanger, Chorus, Tremolo, Vibrato, and Pan, each of which are equipped with their own set of dedicated parameters. They can be arranged in any order thanks to a simple drag-and-drop interface, and all feature their own independent LFO Rate, Depth and Shape controls — every LFO can be set to output sine, triangle, saw, ramp or square waves, and can be set to follow the tempo of the host DAW. Phase Offset and Inversion parameters allow the modulation shapes to be customised further, and all of the modules can also be sync’ed to a global LFO to allow quick, broad adjustments, or even an externally sourced one depending on the host DAW’s routing capabilities.
Alongside the six main processing modules, Module8 also features a pair of send/return-based effects: Lo-Fi and Space, which have been designed to impart some vintage-style character and spatial depth on the source material. There are also some additional global parameters for adjusting the overall modulation depth, as well as a Width function that offers some adjustment over the effect’s stereo image, and an overall wet/dry balance control.
Compatibility
Module8 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 11 or higher. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
