Celemony revamp world-beating pitch & time software
After years of stand-alone operation, Celemony have announced that their flagship pitch- and time-correction software, Melodyne, will be available as a plug-in. Currently, users can import audio into Melodyne and process it within the GUI, or use Melodyne Bridge to route audio from DAW software though the application for real-time processing.
But with the new plug-in version, users of VST-, Audio Units- and RTAS-compatible software can use it inside their host applications without the need to run a completely separate programme.
Like the stand-alone version, Melodyne Plug-in not only handles pitch- and time-manipulation of single-voice instruments, but can effectively process drum and percussion tracks using a custom-designed algorithm that 'ensures results unimpeachable in terms of naturalness and sound quality'.
Melodyne Plug-in costs £219, but registered users of Melodyne Studio 3 can download it for free. There are various upgrades available, and if you are a registered user of Antares Autotune, Soundtoys' Pitch Doctor or Serato Pitch 'n Time, you are eligible for a competitive upgrade discount of £129. Users of Melodyne Uno and Cre8 can also upgrade for £129.
