Are the acoustics of your studio letting down your music? Improving the sound of your room needn't cost much and pays dividends in better recordings and more transportable mixes. Read on for the SOS guide.
Bass Staircase Test Sequence.
This MP3 is of a stepped sequence of ascending sine wave notes over the bottom three octaves. When in the listening position in your studio, play it at normal monitoring levels. In a good room the levels should sound even across the range. Obviously loud or quiet notes indicate problem frequencies that you'll need to address in the ways discussed in the main article.
