Frank Ricotti is a percussion legend. He's played on soundtracks for huge films including Skyfall, the Bourne series, Interstellar and Kung Fu Panda 3, and also featured on countless records. Ricotti Mallets is a rationalisation of Spitfire’s existing products with him — Glockenspiel, Crotales and Marimba — plus a newly recorded Xylophone instrument.
As you’d expect from Spitfire, the libraries are deeply sampled from various perspectives and played with a range of articulations and beaters for a great range of sonic textures. The GUI also includes a feature called the Ostinatum, which is somewhere between a sequencer and an arpeggiator that’s designed to help you quickly create complex patterns.
