Harrison Mixbus 32C Group Buy

Postby Zukan » Mon Sep 18, 2017 8:59 am

Hi forumites!

Ok, clinched a tasty deal on the Harrison Mixbus.

Before I get too excited, a little vibe: 'I love the concept of the Harrsion Mixbus, even as an add-on mixer within your DAW, as it truly is the only DAW that harks back to the old school days of channel strips and inline console technologies. I particularly like the Harrison EQ, which you get on every channel, and the sensible linear layout. Their plugins are also very good and I have heard many say 'it has a sound Ed'.'

That is good enough for me.

The deal is quite simple: the more people that we have sign up to this deal the cheaper the overall cost of the software.

Add your name here: https://harrisonconsoles.lpages.co/soun ... group-buy/

Big up to Ian and the SOS crew for allowing this and thanks to Mike for all his help in organising this.

That is a great deal to be had if this gains traction. Too bad I already own both editions.

Posted in a couple of Facebook music groups, one international, one local Norwegian. Let's see how far we get.

I've been using the v4 demo for a while, then I tried 32c demo - can live with the inserted noise for now, we are loud enough for it to go unnoticed!

if you do this you go on their mailing list and it's not long until you get offered v4 for $39. I waited a bit longer and now I have an offer for 32c for $129 (~£98).

I fancy buying a 32c license, and I'm happy to put my name on this list to see what we can get but looking at the offers available: up to 200 names = the same offer everyone gets post demo. Over 400 and we get the 32c offer. i wouldn't mind 32c and plug ins for $99 but we need over 600 names for that.

Time to get the word out, also worth noting that names on list don't actually have to carry through with it. Looks like they are fishing for email contacts as much as actual sales.

For £100, 32c is worth it. I won't go back to cubase now for my needs.

Don't need it, but had signed up anyway, and suggest others follow suit. Here's why:

The terms are clear that there is no obligation to buy or use the code, but the more people who sign up the better the offer for those who do purchase. For the sake of a couple of emails from Harrison, which I can unsubscribe from later, I can help save someone else quite a lot of cash.

A good idea worth supporting, and if it goes well then who knows, your favourite music software house might copy the idea ;)

Same here. There's still a billion and one* things i haven't figured out on my current DAW so I really don't need another, but someone else might so...

* slight exaggeration, maybe just a billion.

Signed up hoping it will help others enjoy Mixbus as much as I do--it's *different* from what most folks are used to, but it's flipping great. :D

However, unless there is something I am completely unaware of (quite possible!), this is not accurate:

AFAIK, there is no way you will be able to use Mixbus "within your DAW". It's an entire DAW unto itself. You could certainly track in something else, then import to Mixbus for mixing, and some do exactly that.

I just wanted to pipe up in case some folks are not clear on that point.

IIRC, earlier versions allowed you to do some cunning Jack re-wiring so that your DAW outputs were sent to the mixbus mixer. I have some really dim and dusty memory that that was a possibility. However, given that Ardour has been coming on leaps and bounds, it makes more sense to export your tracks from your 'writing' DAW and mix in Mixbus.

Only a day or so to go - one more push chaps and we'll be into the 'insane deal' territory!!

:)

Oh, yes, you could certainly do it via JACK if that was Zukan's reference. :headbang: But it would be quite the routing tangle on a Session of Girth, sounds like a nightmare to me.
