The Aerophone Go is a lot less, but still looks clunky.

The ultimate sax-like MIDI controller is the £3K Synthophone, which has the electronics built into an actual Yamaha sax frame - though personally I don't get on with buzzy reed mouthpieces.

Unaware of the Roland, but following an SOS preview I went for one of these: http://www.aodyo.com

Fantastic fun and you actually blow into the thing. It responds to movement and it really sounds and feels like a real instrument, albeit with ridiculous sound potential - depending on what you’re playing from it - I often have it rigged up to a Waldorf Blofeld.

What’s more it’s easy to re-programme fingering so even a tin whistle player such as myself can play the thing.

That one looks good Bob. Their website made me relapse back into heavy narcs. Any idea on price?

That looks brilliant. The one instrument I always wanted to play was the sax and now, with the kind donations afforded to me by this community (I take Paypal) I can now realise my dream.

Alistair Parnell has a lot of information about this instrument on his website:

http://www.isax.co.uk

He is an excellent wind synth player.

Prices on the store page https://store.aodyo.com/

€799 for the controller (USB cable connection) and €999 for the controller + the wireless adapter.

It comes with a charger, so make sure you specify the UK version.

Wonks found the pricing.

I bought mine as part of the start-up deal and I’m just sending it back now for the wireless and internal sound upgrade.

No electronic sax roundup would be complete without the Saxaboom...

A snip at £200 on eBay.

And falling in the middle

Mine still works over midi but the onboard sounds are dead. It's probably not worth trying to get it fixed.
