Still image capture from video?

Postby twotoedsloth » Thu Dec 12, 2019 6:49 pm

Hello,

I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Is there an easy way to capture a still image from a video file? Hopefully this is possible without expensive software like Photoshop.

Many thanks,

Peter

Freeze the video at the frame that you want to capture, press Alt-PrintScreen (or Fn-PrintScreen depending on your computer), open up a program that allows you to paste images (I use Irfan View), select paste, crop image to the part that you want and then save.

VLC has a snapshot facility. Windows also has snipping tool if you don't want full frame images.
