Probably only about halfway down the keyboard though, ebows will just about work on the top g of a bass guitar but they lack the power to work any lower.

It was Brian Hodgson who ran his mum's front door key along the bass strings of a gutted piano to produce that stunning Tardis sound 8-)

I would love to hear that too. Piano strings are quite stiff & hard to pluck, the only example I can think of is ELPs "Take a pebble".

That might need an EBow with a PP9 battery to get the strings moving
