I'm blown away by this, got to get one, it’s also very scary that we are constantly surrounded by all these background electromagnetic fields.

There is no logical reason to be scared. They are inherent in electrically powered equipment, produce very weak fields, and are entirely benign to life at the field strengths present.

It's all fine Arpangel; I think you've been spending too much time puffing on your Soma Pipe. ;)

There's also the little matter of the 173.000 terawatt of solar energy hitting Earth every year..

Next time, a video of that terrifying thing that's all around us and we can't escape from - called air! :D

Indeed! It would be a lot scarier if we weren't surrounded by them as the biggest one of all is a field that acts as a shield, deflecting enough harmful solar radiation around the earth to prevent the sun from killing us (and the vast majority of all life on the planet) in a matter of minutes.

It's true -- Oxygen is a very bad element.... causes no end of damage and destruction when it reacts with other stuff -- including lots of stuff inside us!

Hi Tony,

Ironically, electro-magnetic interference is exactly what I captured in that link I gave you last week using my Koma Field Kit, two telephone bugs and a computer fan:

https://soundcloud.com/yew-tree-magic/m ... -fan-tests

The Soma Ether just makes it easier to pick up when you're out and about ;)

Yes, it’s handy, when used sparingly, no good for me then :D
But what about living under electricity pylons, isn’t that bad for people?

Not sure if the scientific debate is still going on with this one, but I can confirm that living nearby or even walking beneath one can give a lot of people headaches at the very least, and youngsters do seem to be prone to health problems more than adults IIRC.

Of course it is, along with all the other conspiracy theories, but the WHO and other health authorities have stated basically that there is absolutely no evidence of any damaging effects (including cancer), from long term exposure to mains power lines or any other low energy/low frequency non-isoniang fields. And the actual field strength under a high voltage power line is of a similar order to that created by normal household appliances.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is part of the World Health Organization (WHO) and it published a report in consisting stated that it found “limited evidence” in humans for the carcinogenicity of ELF magnetic fields in relation to childhood leukemia, but “inadequate evidence” in relation to all other cancers. It also found “inadequate evidence” for the carcinogenicity of ELF magnetic fields based on studies in lab animals, and “inadequate evidence” for the carcinogenicity of ELF electric fields in humans.

So basically, no fault found!

I can confirm that living nearby or even walking beneath one can give a lot of people headaches at the very least

When I was a school kid my best friend's house was directly under a super-grid pylon line and I spent a lot of time playing there.... With no noticeable or memorable ill effects whatsoever either in me or any of my friends. I don't doubt some people do get headaches, but I wouldn't rule out psychosomatic effects as the cause. There are certain situations and locations that have that effect in me too... :-)

and youngsters do seem to be prone to health problems more than adults IIRC.

There have been countless surveys and studies over the years, but I don't believe any have shown statistically valid evidence -- the WHO doesn't thing so anyway, although it has suggested that the magnetic field element may have some significance, possibly, but there is still no reliable evidence as yet.
