It was just 'sound on sound' over and over again.

Yeaa ! do I get an extra 1/2 point for that ?
Musically, I could hear that the pattern repeated but for the code decoding, I copied a section of the track into Audacity. I could then slow it down and write down the dots & dashes manually. Which were then translated via a web app.
The slowing down is a usefull tool for working out fast riffs.

Im loving this "behind the scenes of track xx..." section. very informative, especially when listening to the tracks again.

Hi All apologies for the rather late reply to his thread, not a regular on here any more. I did intend entering this, but while I got around to programming some sounds on a certain synth I didn't get a tune together. Had a good listen to them all - some lovely stuff, well done everyone. Hope you do another one of these as I'd love to have a go, I find I need deadlines to finish things so this would be perfect :).

Steve, we will probably do another one early in the year. Depending on the post-Christmas pandemic situation, possibly very early! So keep an eye out.

I shall probably start work on mine over the Christmas break. It's not as if I've got any other plans right now :D

Taking active steps to prepare for the next challenge here. I have chosen a synth, printed the manual for reference, and started a couple of patches.

I've never liked a solo violin, you need at least five for a proper fire.

I'm thinking about it myself, and I have a cunning plan

Are any specific parameters/restrictions being bandied about?

I'm just updating and overhauling a new master sticky thread which will have the results of all the previous challenges and act as the main 'OSC' thread. Then the various challenges can just reference that. Once that is sorted (hopefully this weekend), I vote we kick one off next week-ish

...cool, I think it was very sneaky to pull all the previous entries offline just as people were trying to guess if Professor Plum killed Mrs Peacock with the lead pipe. If people want to evade detection for their musical crimes they'll have to try. :D

(I've chosen my next weapon and I'm excited about it.)

Hang on all you early bird keeners. Isn’t the point to create a track based on specific parameters to avoid falling into the rut of what one normally and easily does?
Or did I misread the contract?
