AES NY 2019 — SSL go back to their roots with the Origin

All-analogue automation-less desk debuts at AES New York

SSL were the first manufacturer out of the gate at AES New York on the show's opening day, announcing their new all-analogue Origin console in an event held on their stand just before AES's official opening. As SSL's Ross Gilbert explained as the desk was unveiled, the Origin (which will retail for under £42,000 in the UK$49,995 in the US) harks back to the company's console-building roots with its all-analogue design and SSL sound, but with an eye on how 21st-century DAW-based artists and engineers like to record and work.

The SOS team were there to get all the details, as you can see from the video above featuring Editor-in-Chief Paul White and SSL's Phill Scholes.
