Manley Labs began their 30th anniversary celebrations this year with a limited-edition reissue of their dual-mono mic preamp. The company’s second and final reissue will be announced on the first day of the AES show in New York: a similarly limited run of their 1990 Reference Cardioid valve‑based microphone, with the same universal power supply issued with the existing Reference Silver mic (see above).

The new mic is known as the Reference Cardioid XXX, and has a special red-accented white finish, as do the included power supply and microphone mount. It looks rather splendid, as you can see below, but you’ll have to hurry — only 100 are being produced in total, each costing £3036$2999.
