Lectrosonics have announced a v2 firmware upgrade for their Duet wireless digital in‑ear monitoring system. Widely used in the tour sound market, the Duet system consists of the half‑rack M2T transmitter and M2R belt‑pack receiver units, can accept analogue or Dante digital inputs, and operates on radio frequencies between 470 and 608 MHz.

Many new features suggested by the Duet user base to speed operation have been added, including the ability to sync belt packs and turn RF transmission on or off from the M2T’s front panel, without accessing menus. Front-panel shortcuts have also been added to cut setup time, an optional volume lock has been added and there are more options under the gain and internal limiter settings. Following a request from live engineers, the LEDs on the receivers may now be deactivated using the up and down arrow buttons on the beltpacks, so as not to distract performers or audience in a live setting.

The v2 upgrade can be downloaded for free from the Lectrosonics website and is applied to M2T transmitters and M2R receivers via the company’s Wireless Designer application.
