Thanks for all the great feedback! Ive since had one of my songs submitted to a local radio station in woodstock NY and they played it! Starting to feel like maybe i CAN do this!. Working on a couple more at the moment but real life gets in the way too often so it takes longer than i like.. now i just have to find a way to make music real life instead of the daily grind:).

Nicely done.

33 seconds is too long to wait for the song to start. If you want to show off your guitar playing save it for a break later on.

You don't have to write songs. The world doesn't want you to write songs. It would probably prefer it if you didn't. So write songs if you want to. Otherwise, dont bore us with beefing about it. Go fishing instead.

Well, I finally got around to listening to these. I don't know enough to comment on technicalities, but as a fellow 'traveller' I found them to be very enjoyable listening.

It helps to bounce off someone - knocks the corners off the tune - so to speak. Working on ones own is harder - harder to know ..

I don't know if this post will be noticed cause I'm posting a little late in the game, but I definitely understand the fear of sharing your own music. It's something I've dealt with all my life. You invest a huge amount of your soul and ego into what you create, and revealing it anybody is showing off a very intimate part of your being. Then again, from some of your later posts it sounds like you're doing a lot better in this department - props to you!

I already posted a comment on your soundcloud, but in case you haven't seen it yet I'll reiterate - I think it's a great, well-mixed piece and am impressed by the expression and haunting quality of your voice. I think the one critique I might make is that given its simple structure, you should do something different with the guitar or vocals to create a better sense of build. Maybe have the guitar solo improvise for a little bit for one part, vary your riffs a bit more, sing a few wordless long notes while letting the guitar take the foreground, or use a slightly more complex chord structure. Apart from that, I think it's a very strong composition.
