Thankyou so much for all the responses, I've ordered a Mooer lofi machine but I'm not sure that's the job lot, so I've asked my Dad if he'll go halfs with me on a Moogerfooger for Christmas so I can go full on Dalek rap shenanigans :D thanks Wonks sir for the advice, I think a ring modulator could be the real deal for me, I'll post up a link to my results when it's done, can't wait to try it out...anyone know of a second hand one going? I'm sure it's unlikely as they're a bit of a keeper I imagine but £275 is a lot of money for me at the moment, Chrimbo it'll have to be, then Dalek shenanigans at my first gig on January the 10th at a pub in the new year, can't wait :D <3

I make the BM88's but I haven't had time in the last few years, if anyone has a burning desire for one just drop me a line since I still have a few from the last lot and have been giving them away for free. I have just re-registered under the name I use for music and I think if I post any links this will get removed but purely as an example of what it sounds like you can search my name in YouTube and hear the track I put up last week which used it exclusively on vocals and on guitar with a 4081 ribbon.

Good to hear you're still around. I still have the BM88 because it quite definitely is (as Mad Magazine used to say) Number One In A Field Of One. Liked the music, by the way.

Cheers,

Thanks and thanks for promoting my mic. Although I don't have any plans to make any more if enough people are interested I can knock up a guide on how to build one, with links to the parts, and put it in the DIY section.

Since everyone seems quite keen, I’ll do a quick how to guide with all the part numbers and where to get them from when I get a chance. They’re not difficult to make but there are a few shortcuts I’ve learnt from making large batches that make things a lot easier. I’ll put it in the DIY section but I’ll post a reply here as well when it’s up. Since I have reregistered I can’t reply to messages but will when I can.

Take care

As someone who knows what they'll have when they've made one, great! These mics are a lot more fun than the lo-fi plugins you can pick up.

Now you've got three posts under your belt, you should be able to use the PM system.

Just as an aside here is the BM104 I built last year just for fun as a one off. Four capsules, two lofi and two dynamic, set in two suspended rows inside two hubcaps from a Hillman Super Imp. Sounds great on guitar amps.
